Who are the benefactors for EyeRide 2025?
EyeRide 2025 supports TRAILBLAZERS Tandem Cycling Club and BALANCE for Blind Adults, two GTA-based organizations helping people with vision loss achieve their full potential by promoting independence, social interaction, recreation and physical activity, and empowering individuals to secure meaningful employment.
TRAILBLAZERS Tandem Cycling Club is a community-based recreational cycling club with a twist: it offers the opportunity for individuals with vision loss to cycle with sighted volunteers on tandem (two-person) bicycles that are provided by the organization. Funds raised via EyeRide 2025 will help rejuvenate its fleet of older tandem bicycles so they can continue to support the mental and physical health of our community. TRAILBLAZERS was an integral part of the inaugural EyeRide and is looking to athletes, avid cyclists and their supporters to keep that tradition going strong.
BALANCE for Blind Adults offers programs and services to support the whole person. Regardless of where an individual is in their sight loss journey, to wherever they may be going, BALANCE provides services and programs needed to get there. The organization offers Orientation & Mobility (O&M), Community Engagement, adaptive daily living skills, group programming, technology training – including their Assistive Technology (AT) Apprenticeship Program and mental health supports. Funds donated to BALANCE from EyeRide 2025 will directly support mental health and well-being programs for some of their most vulnerable clients, led by counsellors with lived experience of blindness.
The team behind EyeRide recognizes the incredible contributions each organization makes to the vision loss community and wishes to keep building on the incredible work they do. Funds raised by EyeRide 2025 will be split evenly between both organizations.
How much money was raised from EyeRide 2024 and who were the benefactors?
Participants of the 2024 EyeRide raised over $55,000 and was evenly shared between BALANCE for Blind Adults and the TRAILBLAZERS Tandem Cycling Club.
With the same benefactors in 2025, we are thrilled to have already surpassed our 2024 fundraising total. As of June 14, 2025, EyeRide 2025 has raised over $63,000 … and counting!
